Manifesto

The Messy Kitchen is maniacal about food. We believe that delicious food is most often simple, occasionally ambitious, and seldom achievable without at least a teeny tiny mess.

We are somewhat suspicious of Perfect Kitchens (you know, the ones with perfect gleaming appliances, so clean you can eat off the floor) because we have found that many times, no one really cooks there.

We are unafraid of the occasional disaster. In fact, we believe they are essential to learning to cook deliciously.

We believe that fashion mixes well with food only when the final result is humbly unpretentious AND extremely delicious.

We believe in generous messy servings over teeny tiny wispy overstylized ones. (There are of course, some exceptions to this rule.)

Our tastes do not discriminate. We embrace food of all origins, so long as it is produced responsibly and lovingly.

We believe in both olive oil and butter.

Most of all, we believe that delicious food is made even more so when it is cooked with passion, served with enthusiasm, and shared in heaping portions with family and friends.

Enjoy!
